UAB is a son of a b. Did you see that game last night?! They were up 20-3 at halftime. 20-3! That was a 35 point lead against the spread! They’d almost have to not score in the second half and let Houston put up 21 points per quarter in order to blow that lead. Ohhhhh wait… that’s exactly what happened. COME ON!!!
Anyway, I have four more picks for the weekend. For what it’s worth…
[NCAA] South Carolina @ Kentucky: Honestly, I think these are pretty evenly matched teams… both on offense and defense. Kentucky probably does more scoring, but it should be a good matchup. But I’ll tell you what… Kentucky is 4-1. And their only loss came last week, on the road, against Alabama — where they lost by 3 (they were getting 15). I think they come home this week and prove to the fans that they really have what it takes. The fact that they’re getting points is icing on the cake. I take Kentucky to win here.
South Carolina @ Kentucky: Kentucky +3
[NCAA] Bowling Green @ Akron: There’s one big red flag for this game… Bowling Green likes to throw the ball… Akron can slow that down. Akron likes to throw the ball… Bowling Green cannot slow that down. That’s what it comes down to for me here. Plus Akron is at home and is yet to win a home game. I feel good about this one.
Bowling Green @ Akron: Akron +1
[NCAA] Boise State @ So Mississippi: Boise State is a tough team; they throw the hell out of the ball, and they score a lot. Which explains why 80% of the money (ATS) is on them. And I like that. What I like even more is that the spread for this game started at -12.5 for Boise State and has come down to -10.5 — despite all of the money on them. It’s crazy logic every time, but it sure makes things interesting. I’m going with the underdog home team here.
Boise State @ So Miss: So Miss +10.5
[NFL] Dallas @ Arizona: I’m hesitant to even pick an NFL game after the past few weeks, but I’m doing it, and I’m taking the Cardinals. I think they’ll be just as successful on offense as Dallas. And I like that they’re an underdog at home. They look good at home. I have a feeling they’ll keep this game close — maybe even pull off an upset. I’m cheering for Arizona all the way.
Dallas @ Arizona: Arizona +5
